Dr. Ken Crocker

Revive Sermons

Dr. Ken Crocker was a typical difficult child until he met Jesus at age 11. After he became a Christian, all he wanted was to serve God. He was a Pastor and counselor for 60 years.

He received his Doctorate from Beulah Heights College and founded Christian Ministries.

Dr. Crocker became an author, Editor, musician, radio and TV host, artist, pilot, and business executive.  He could talk to anyone and regularly conversed with important friends across the country.

In 1960, Dr. Crocker became pastor of The First Assembly of God church in Marion, Indiana.  They supported his calling and sent him on a three-month worldwide missionary trip, during which thousands received Christ and healing.  That adventure changed his life.  His sermons reflected the amazing power of God.  Dr. Crocker went on to pastor 6 different churches. He started two churches from a Bible Study in his home.  They both became successful.

In the early 1970s, a dear friend donated a Cessna 172 airplane so he could take missionary trips to South America.  He worked with a group called “Airmail from God.”  He flew over remote small towns that were difficult to access by road.   He dropped small pamphlets and Gospel of John materials that gently floated to the ground, offering hope to hurting souls.

Ken had a graphic design business and also worked in an investment company.  Around 1966,

he built a beautiful church in Decatur, Georgia.  He did the architectural rendering for the

building, served as the contractor, and also built parts of it.  He was praised by the State of Georgia for his excellent work, with no negative State reviews during the construction process.  Dr. Crocker went on to build a beautiful church in Conyers, Georgia, and had a popular radio program for six years.

Ken published over 250 newspaper articles, had a television ministry and a radio ministry, and was published in Guideposts Magazine.  He spoke at the Robert Schuller Ministers conference and was a good friend of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale.

Dr. Crocker loved to read.  His illustrations within his sermons are legendary.  Many business professionals attended his church specifically for his uplifting sermons that related faith to their personal lives and to business goals.

Dr. Crocker and his wife, Magdalene (1928-2019), were married for 66 years.

Magdalene’s mother was an evangelist. At an early age, Maggie began preaching in tent meetings, which prepared her for evangelism with Ken after they married.  They held one revival after another throughout the South until Debbie was five years old. They took their first church in Evergreen, Alabama, and spent the next 60 years as pastors.

Magdalene Crocker   (1928-2019)

Maggie Crocker, Ken’s wife, wrote 27 popular gospel songs.  “I Don’t Need To Understand” became a worldwide sensation and is still used in churches today.  Check out the tab for Maggie Crocker’s music in order to listen to her music.  You can also find a link to the sheet music.

As a child, Debbie had fun watching them interact with others, always making friends, and always having an answer for everything.  They never found an instrument they couldn’t play.  A friend challenged them, and they lost count after both played 20 different instruments on a revival tour.  They were amazing!

They were both a powerhouse of talent, compassion, and love.  You can read more of their story in Debbie’s book, “Praying for America and the Army of God.”  Please see our store for information.
